3rd Annual MB Tractor Golf Classic set for Monday, August 14th at Laconia Country Club 2nd Annual Event Raises $10,000

Laconia, N.H.-With no rain-until the very end of the day-the 31 golf teams participating in the 2nd Annual MB Tractor Golf Classic, benefiting the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program, was an unqualified success. The event, held on August 29th at the lovely Laconia Country Club, raised more than $10,000 for the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program.

Audra Paquette was the hostess for the day, greeting golfers and speaking to the crowd after the tournament during the awards dinner. Other Miss N.H. titleholders attending the event were: Katrina Bernard, Miss Stratham Fair, Briana Burgess, Miss Londonderry, Cara Silva, Miss Granite State, Justine Barker, Miss Seacoast, Catherine Dennehy, Miss Deerfield Fair 05, Natalie Shaw, Miss Lakes Region, and Suzanne Loisel, Miss Derry.

MB Tractor & Equipment of Tilton and Plaistow once again organized the event, with Mike Marquis serving as the Chair. Sponsors included M.B. Tractor and the manufacturer for which it serves as a primary dealership-Kubota Tractor, Pixel Force of Laconia, Curtis Snow Plow, Marine Properties, LLC, Eastern Quad, LLC, and the Auto Serv dealerships!

The silent auction was a highlight of the event with plentiful Red Sox and Patriots championship memorabilia. Thanks go out to Tom Lee who won the 50/50 raffle of about $600.00. As Audra prepared to pull the name from the hat, Marc Bourgeois called out to the crowd, "Now remember you've got to donate this back to the Miss NH Organization!" Tom's ticket was drawn and he immediately jumped up and shouted to the crowd, "Okay I will donate this if someone will match it!" Marc's father, Robert Bourgeois instantly accepted the challenge. Our most sincere thanks to such a wonderful group of philanthropists!

The 2006 event is scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006 at the Laconia Country Club. MB's chair of the event for 2006 is George Liss, MB's Field Sales Reprehensive for the Southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts territory. George, who co-chaired the event with Mike Marquis in 2005, served for eight years as a golf professional at the Laconia Country Club. Watch for the entry form on the Miss NH website beginning in May, so you can enjoy a beautiful day on the golf course!
